The Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) has announced that they are inviting applications for the post of Computer Assistant Gr. II in Universities in Kerala exam on under category no 050/2026. Candidates who are interested in working as an Computer Assistant Gr. II in the state of Kerala with a pay scale of ₹27,900-63,700/-, can now apply for the exam through the official KPSC website. The last date of application will be 05-08-2026.

Age Limit

18-40; Only candidates born between 02.01.1986 and 01.01.2008 (both dates included) are eligible, with usual relaxation to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Communities. The maximum age shall not exceed 50 years.

Qualifications

SSLC or its equivalent
Higher Grade Certificate in Typewriting (English) (KGTE) and Computer Word Processing or its equivalent
Lower Grade Certificate in Typewriting (Malayalam) (KGTE) or its equivalent

Notes

Those who passed KGTE Typewriting before January 2002 must possess a separate certificate in Computer Word Processing or its equivalent at the time of application.
Only Typewriting Certificates issued by the Government will be accepted; certificates issued by Typewriting Institutes will not be considered.
Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II of KS & SSR is applicable.
Equivalent qualifications recognized by Government orders and higher qualifications that presuppose the prescribed lower qualification will also be accepted subject to the conditions specified in the notification.
Candidates claiming an equivalent qualification must produce the relevant Government Order proving equivalency at verification.
4% of the total vacancies reported shall be reserved for eligible Differently Abled candidates as specified in the notification.
A common ranked list will be prepared for the Universities covered by the Kerala Public Service Commission (Additional Functions as respects the Service under the Universities) Act, 2015 and subsequently included Universities.
A candidate needs to submit only one application, and candidates will be advised against vacancies reported by the various Universities according to rank and reservation rules.
Candidates have no right to claim initial appointment to any particular University.
The ranked list will remain in force for a minimum of one year and a maximum of three years, subject to publication of a new ranked list.
Candidates selected will be on probation for two years on duty within a continuous period of three years.
