The Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) has announced that they are inviting applications for the post of Fisheries Officer in Fisheries Department exam on 30-10-2025 under category no 416/2025. 18 – 36; Only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post with usual relaxation to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Communities.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries Science/ BFSC Nautical Science /Industrial Fisheries/ Mariculture /Marine Biology/Coastal Aquaculture/Aquatic Biology and Fisheries/Aquaculture/ Aquaculture and Fishery Microbiology/Capture and Culture Fisheries/ Aquaculture and Fishery Biology/Applied Fisheries and Aquaculture/Fish Processing Technology and Aquaculture/Aquaculture Engineering/ Zoology from a recognized University.
OR A Master’s Degree in Fisheries Science/Industrial Fisheries/ Mariculture / Marine Biology/ Coastal Aquaculture/Aquatic Biology and Fisheries/Aquaculture/ Aquaculture and Fishery Microbiology/Capture and Culture Fisheries/ Aquaculture and Fishery Biology/Applied Fisheries and Aquaculture/Fish Processing Technology and Aquaculture/Aquaculture Engineering/ Zoology from a recognized University.

Notes

Rule 10(a) (ii) of Part II KS&SSR is applicable.
Probation: Every person appointed to this post shall be on probation for a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years.
Tests: Every probationer must pass the Account Test (Lower or Higher) and pass the Staff Training Course conducted by the Director of Fisheries during the period of probation.
4% of the total vacancies reported shall be reserved for eligible Differently Abled candidates with disabilities as specified vide GO(P)No. 5/2023/SJD dated 01.10.2023.
