The Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) has announced that they are inviting applications for the post of Lecturer in Kannada in General Education Department (DIET) exam on 31-12-2025 under category no 705/2025. Candidates who are interested in working as an Lecturer in Kannada in the state of Kerala with a pay scale of ₹ 55,200 – 1,15,300/-, can now apply for the exam through the official KPSC website. Age Limit

22-40. Only candidates born between 02.01.1985 and 01.01.2003 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post with usual age relaxation to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Communities.

Qualifications

Masters Degree with not less than 50% marks in Kannada Language and Literature from any statutory University established in India.
M.Ed Degree with not less than 50% marks with specialization in Language Education or Methods of Teaching Kannada from any statutory University established in India.
Teacher Eligibility Test or National or State Eligibility Test or M.Phil or Ph.D in the subject concerned or in Education.

Notes

4% of the total vacancies reported shall be reserved for eligible Differently Abled candidates as specified vide G.O (P) No. 13/2024/SJD dated 17.10.2024.
Rule 10 a (ii) of part II of KS&SSR is applicable.
Candidates who have acquired Non-qualifying degrees viz. Ph.D/M.Phil/Post Doctoral Fellowship will be awarded weightage marks (M.Phil – 2 marks, Ph.D – 4 marks, Both – 5 marks, Post Doctoral Fellowship – 2 marks).
Degrees / Diplomas awarded by UGC approved Universities or Institutions established through an act passed by Parliament/State Legislative Assembly in accordance with the condition laid down in G.O (M.S) No.526/PD dated 17/07/1965 are acceptable.
Candidates who claim equivalent qualification shall produce the relevant Government Order to prove the equivalency at the time of certificate verification.
Probation: Every person appointed to this post shall be on probation for a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years.
