The Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) has announced that they are inviting applications for the post of Lecturer in Tamil (By Transfer) in General Education Department (DIET) exam on 31-12-2025 under category no 704/2025. Candidates who are interested in working as an Lecturer in Tamil (By Transfer) in the state of Kerala with a pay scale of ₹ 55,200 – 1,15,300 /-, can now apply for the exam through the official KPSC website. The last date of application will be 04-02-2026.

Age Limit

Upper age limit for appointment by transfer shall be 50 years as on the first day of January 2025.

Qualifications

Masters Degree with not less than 50% marks in Tamil Language and Literature from any statutory University established in India.
M.Ed Degree with not less than 50% marks with specialization in Language Education or Methods of Teaching Tamil from any statutory University established in India.
Not less than three years regular teaching service as Teacher Educators in Teacher Training Institutes under the Government or as Primary Department Teacher or as High School Teacher or as Higher Secondary School Teacher or as Vocational Higher Secondary School Teacher in the Government Schools in Kerala.

Notes

The Ranked list shall remain in force for a minimum period of one year or till the expiry of three years whichever is earlier.
A ratio 2:1 shall be maintained between (i) Teachers in Government Primary Schools and (ii) Teachers in Government Higher Secondary/High Schools/Teacher Educators. In the absence of qualified hands for By-Transfer, vacancies shall be filled by direct recruitment.
Candidates must obtain a service certificate in original in the form specified in ANNEXURE from the Head of the Institution.
Rule 10 a (ii) of part II of KS&SSR is applicable.
Weightage marks will be awarded for non-qualifying degrees (Ph.D/M.Phil/Post Doctoral Fellowship) provided they are in subjects pertaining to the basic qualification.
Candidates who claim equivalent qualification shall produce the relevant Government Order to prove equivalency at the time of certificate verification.
The degrees/diplomas awarded by UGC approved Universities or Institutions established through an Act passed by Parliament/State Legislative Assembly are acceptable.
