The Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) has announced that they are inviting applications for the post of Lecturer in Tamil in General Education Department (DIET) exam on under category no 703/2025. Candidates who are interested in working as an Lecturer in Tamil in the state of Kerala with a pay scale of ₹ 55,200 - 1,15,300/-, can now apply for the exam through the official KPSC website. The last date of application will be 04-02-2026.

Age Limit

22-40; Only candidates born between 02.01.1985 and 01.01.2003 (both dates included) with usual relaxation to SC/ST and OBC candidates.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree with not less than 50% marks in Tamil Language and Literature from a statutory University established in India.
M.Ed Degree with not less than 50% marks with specialization in Language Education or Methods of Teaching Tamil from a statutory University established in India.
Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) or National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Eligibility Test (SET) or M.Phil or Ph.D in the concerned subject or in Education.

Notes

4% of total vacancies reserved for Differently Abled candidates as per G.O (P) No.13/2024/SJD dated 17.10.2024.
Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II of KS & SSR is applicable.
Weightage marks are awarded for Non-Qualifying Degrees (M.Phil/Ph.D/Post Doctoral Fellowship) as specified in the notification.
Degrees/Diplomas awarded by UGC approved Universities or institutions established by Act of Parliament/State Legislature are acceptable.
Equivalent qualifications must be supported by relevant Government Orders at the time of certificate verification.
Probation period: Two years on duty within a continuous period of three years from the date of joining.
