The Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) has announced that they are inviting applications for the post of Police Constable (Band/Bugler/Drummer) in Police (Band Unit) exam on 30-10-2025 under category no 419/2025. Candidates who are interested in working as an Police Constable (Band/Bugler/Drummer) in the state of Kerala with a pay scale of ₹ 31,100 - 66,800/-, can now apply for the exam through the official KPSC website. The last date of application will be 03-12-2025.

Age Limit

18-26. Candidates born between 02.01.1999 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included) are eligible to apply. Relaxation up to 29 years for OBC, 31 years for SC/ST and 41 years for Ex-servicemen.

Qualifications

Must have passed Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent.
Must have minimum one year experience in playing Band, Bugle, Drum and allied musical instruments of Police Band Unit from a Firm/Institution/Band Troop having registration under State/Central Government.
Physical standards: Height minimum 168 cm (161 cm for SC/ST); Chest minimum 81 cm with minimum expansion of 5 cm.
Must qualify in any 5 events out of the 8 items of the national physical efficiency one star standard test.
Visual standards: Distant vision 6/6 Snellen, Near vision 0.5 Snellen (Right and Left eye).

Notes

Differently abled candidates and female candidates are not eligible to apply.
Rule 10 (a) (ii) of Part II of the KS&SSR is applicable.
Qualified candidates shall be required to pass a proficiency test prior to appointment.
Selected candidates must execute a bond to serve the State Government for a specific period.
