The Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) has announced that they are inviting applications for the post of Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector in Motor Vehicles Department exam on under category no 26/2026. Age Limit

21-40; Only candidates born between 02.01.1986 and 01.01.2005 (both dates included) are eligible. Usual relaxation applicable to SC/ST and OBC candidates.

Qualifications

Pass in SSLC or equivalent examination
Diploma in Automobile Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (3-year course) awarded by the State Board of Technical Education or any institution recognized by the Central or State Government
Or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central or State Government
Must possess a current valid Driving License authorizing driving of Motor Cycle, Heavy Goods Vehicle and Heavy Passenger Motor Vehicle

Notes

Differently Abled candidates are not eligible to apply for this post.
Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II KS & SSR is applicable.
Candidates must possess a valid driving licence throughout all stages of selection including application, OMR test and interview.
Minimum Physical Standards: Male – Height 165 cm, Chest 81 cm with 5 cm expansion; Female – Height 152 cm.
SC/ST candidates: Minimum Height 160 cm (Male) and 150 cm (Female).
Vision Standard without glasses: Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen and Near Vision 0.5 Snellen in both eyes.
Colour blindness, squint or any morbid condition of the eyes/lids is a disqualification.
Medical certificate from a Government Ophthalmologist (not below Assistant Surgeon rank) is required.
Probation: Two years on duty within a continuous period of three years.
Training: 10 months as per schedule notified by the Transport Commissioner.
Extra marks are awarded to meritorious sports persons as per General Conditions.
