The Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) has announced that they are inviting applications for the post of Assistant Professor in Natural Science in Collegiate Education (Govt. Training Colleges) exam on 28-11-2025 under category no 439/2025 – 440/2025. Candidates who are interested in working as an Assistant Professor in Natural Science in the state of Kerala with a pay scale of UGC Scale, can now apply for the exam through the official KPSC website. The last date of application will be 31-12-2025.

I) By – Transfer Recruitment (439/2025), II) Direct Recruitment (440/2025)

Age Limit

For Direct Recruitment: 22-50; Only candidates born between 02.01.1975 and 01.01.2003 (both dates included) are eligible to apply. For Recruitment By – Transfer: No upper age limit is prescribed.

Qualifications

Masters degree in Botany or Zoology with at least 50% marks or its equivalent and good academic records.
M.Ed degree with not less than 55% marks with specialization in methods of teaching Natural Science.
Three years teaching experience in Schools or Colleges after acquiring the Professional qualifications.
Must have passed a comprehensive test specifically conducted for the purpose by UGC (NET) or any agency duly constituted by the State Government in this behalf (SET/SLET). Candidates having Ph. D Degree in the concerned subject are exempted from NET.

Notes

Method of Direct Recruitment will be considered only in the absence of qualified candidates for recruitment by transfer.
Rule 10(a) ii of Part II of KS & SSR is applicable.
4% of the total vacancies reported shall be reserved for eligible Differently Abled candidates (for Direct Recruitment Only).
Weightage marks will be awarded for non-qualifying degrees: M.Phil (2 marks), Ph.D (4 marks), Both M.Phil & Ph.D (5 marks), or Post Doctoral Fellowship (2 marks).
Qualifications recognized by Executive Orders or Standing Orders of Government as equivalent to a qualification specified for a post shall also be sufficient.
