The Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) has announced that they are inviting applications for the post of Boat Syrang in Kerala State Water Transport exam on under category no 051/2026. Candidates who are interested in working as an Boat Syrang in the state of Kerala with a pay scale of ₹26,500-60,700/-, can now apply for the exam through the official KPSC website. Age Limit

18-40; Only candidates born between 02.01.1986 and 01.01.2008 (both dates included) are eligible. Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Communities are eligible for usual age relaxation.

Qualifications

Pass in SSLC or its equivalent qualification
Valid Syrang License issued by an authority specified under the Kerala Inland Vessels Rules, 2010 or a Mercantile Marine Department (MMD) license

Notes

4% of the vacancies reported to the Commission are reserved for Differently Abled candidates as per G.O.(P) No.13/2024/SJD dated 17.10.2024.
Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II of KS & SSR is applicable.
Qualifications recognized by Executive Orders or Standing Orders of Government as equivalent to the prescribed qualification, and higher qualifications that presuppose the prescribed lower qualification, will also be accepted subject to the conditions specified in the notification.
Candidates appointed to the post shall be on probation for two years on duty within a continuous period of three years.
The Ranked List will remain in force for a minimum of one year and will continue until publication of a new list after one year or completion of three years, whichever is earlier.
No application fee is required.
If a Written/OMR/Online Test is conducted, candidates must submit confirmation through their One Time Registration profile within the prescribed period.
Original documents proving qualification, age, community and other claims must be produced when required by the Commission.
