Excise Inspector (Trainee) – Excise – 188/2025

The Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) has announced that they are inviting applications for the post of Excise Inspector (Trainee) in Excise exam on 31-07-2025 under category no 188/2025. Candidates who are interested in working as an Excise Inspector (Trainee) in the state of Kerala with a pay scale of ₹ 43,400 – 91,200/-, can now apply for the exam through the official KPSC website. The last date of application will be 03-09-2025.

Method of appointment	Direct Recruitment From approved Probationers in any of the categories of Assistant Excise Inspector, Excise Preventive Officer, Civil Excise Officer/Women Civil Excise Officer.
Age Limit	19-45. Must not have completed 45 (Forty Five) years as on 01.01.2025. Candidates born on or after 02.01.1980 are eligible to apply for the post.
Qualifications	Educational: Must possess B.A, B.Sc or B.Com Degree of any recognized University or its equivalent. In the case of Ex-Servicemen, the minimum qualification shall be SSLC. Physical standards (Male): Height – 165 cm (160 cm for SC); Chest – 81 cm (normal) with 5 cm expansion. Physical standards (Female): Height – 152 cm (150 cm for SC). Visual standards (without glasses): Distant vision 6/6 snellen (both eyes); Near vision 0.5 snellen (both eyes). Physical Efficiency Test: Must qualify in at least five out of eight specified items (e.g., 100m run, High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put, etc.).
Notes	KS&SSR Part-II Rule 10 (a) (ii) is applicable. No relaxation will be allowed to SC/ST candidates in the matter of chest measurement. Preference will be given to Ex-Servicemen subject to condition stipulated in G.O.(Ms).No. 50/70/PD dated 12.02.1970. The period of training (not less than 12 months) shall be counted for Probation and Increment. Account Test (Lower) and Excise Tests Parts A & B must be passed within the probation period.
