The Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) has announced that they are inviting applications for the post of Physical Education Teacher (HS) - Malayalam Medium in Education exam on 30-08-2025 under category no 288/2025. Candidates who are interested in working as an Physical Education Teacher (HS) - Malayalam Medium in the state of Kerala with a pay scale of ₹35,600 – 75,400/-, can now apply for the exam through the official KPSC website. | Qualifications | A pass in SSLC Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala or its equivalent.
One of the following physical education qualifications: (a) A pass in the Certificate of Physical Education issued by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala (Certificate in Physical Education of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu states also accepted); OR (b) A pass in the Vocational Higher Secondary Education Course in Physical Education conducted by the Board of Vocational Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or its equivalent; OR (c) Any degree in Physical Education (Regular Course) such as B.P.Ed/M.P.Ed etc. conferred or recognised by any University in Kerala; OR (d) Ex-Servicemen of Army/Navy/Air Force with SSLC or equivalent and one of: Physical Training Course of Armed Forces, Army Physical Training Corps Instructors Course, Naval Physical Training Corps Instructors Course, or Air Force Ground Training Instructors Course.
Must have passed Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET Category IV) conducted by the Government of Kerala (GO(Ms)No.109/2022/GEdn dated 24.06.2022). Exemption for candidates who have qualified CTET/NET/SET/M.Phil/Ph.D in respective subjects or M.Ed. |
| Notes | Ranked List will be prepared for Alappuzha district and shall remain in force for a minimum of one year and a maximum of three years.
4% of total vacancies reserved for eligible Differently Abled candidates as per G.O.(P) No.13/2024/SJD dated 17.10.2024.
Selection will be made on a revenue district basis. Candidates appointed in one district are not eligible for transfer to another district unless they complete five years of continuous service.
The 5-year service condition for transfer is not applicable for transfer to Idukki, Wayanad, and Kasaragod districts (as per G.O.(P)No.12/96/P&ARD dated 16.3.1996), and this concession is granted only once in a career.
Candidates already in Government service holding this post in any district are prohibited from applying again for this post.
Preference given to wives of Jawans in teacher recruitment as per G.O.(MS) No.50/70/PD and G.O.(MS) No.9/78/G.Edn.
Laboratory Attenders in departmental High Schools with at least 5 years satisfactory service and prescribed qualifications are exempted from age limit.
First Class Scouts and Guides will be given preference in appointment.
Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II of KS&SSR is applicable for this post.
Equivalent/higher qualifications approved by Government executive orders or standing orders will also be considered.
CTET (Primary stage & Elementary stage) will not be considered against KTET Category IV as per G.O.(P)No.6/2024/GEDN dated 01.02.2024.
M.Ed prescribed as substitute for K-TET need not be subject specific as per G.O(P) No.15/2020/G.Edn dated 09/10/2020. |
