Age Limit20-40. Only candidates born between 02.01.1985 and 01.01.2005 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post with usual relaxation to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Communities. Relaxation in upper age limit up to 43 years as on 01.01.2025 is allowed to qualified Ministerial Staff under Higher Secondary Education Department.
QualificationsMaster's Degree in the concerned subject with not less than 50% marks from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto.
B.Ed in the concerned subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto.
Must have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of Higher Secondary School Teacher conducted by Government of Kerala or by the agency authorized by the State Government.
OR M.Sc.Ed in the concerned subject with not less than 50% marks from any of the Regional Institute of Education sponsored by NCERT.
NotesHigher Secondary School Teacher (Junior) means part time post of HSS Teacher.
4% vacancies are reserved for differently abled candidates as per G.O(P)No.5/2023/SJD dated 01.10.2023.
Rule 10 a(ii) of part II of KS&SSR is applicable.
Persons who have acquired M.Ed. in the concerned subject recognized by any University in Kerala are exempted from B.Ed. Qualification.
Exemptions from SET: Those who have passed SLET, National Eligibility Test/Junior Research Fellowship, Ph.D/M.Phil/M.Ed degree holders, or teachers who have completed 10 years of approved teaching service at the High School level.
Weightage marks will be awarded for non-qualifying degrees (Ph.D/M.Phil/Post Doctoral Fellowship) for ranking.
Equivalent/higher qualifications approved by Government orders will also be considered.
