Number of vacancies | Anticipated The Ranked list of selected candidates published by the Commission in response to this notification shall remain in force for a minimum period of one year provided that the said list will continue to be in force till the publication of a new list after the expiry of the minimum period of one year or till the expiry of three years whichever is earlier. Note: (i) Liability to Serve in the Defence Service:- Persons appointed to the above post shall be liable notwithstanding that at the time of requisition, of this service they are holding higher appointments, to serve for a minimum period of 4 years (including the period spent on training) in the Defence Service or on assignment relating to Defence efforts anywhere in India or abroad if so required. The liability to serve in the Defence Service will be limited to the first 10 years of service and will not ordinarily applied to the Assistant Engineers above 40 years of age. |
Method of appointment | Direct Recruitment from Departmental candidates of Public Works Department only. Note: (i) Direct Recruitment from I & II Grade Draftsman / Overseer and III Grade Overseer / Tracers who have rendered not less than 2 years service and Clerks, Typists, Typist-Clerks or Confidential Assistants who have rendered not less than 6 years of service in Public Works Department. (G.O. (P)No.41/94/PW&T dated 03.06.1994). (ii) Candidates working in the above post on provisional basis are not eligible to apply for the post. (iii) In the absence of suitable candidates, the vacancies set apart for By Transfer recruitment shall be filled up by the candidates from the Ranked List prepared for Direct Recruitment. (iv) Rules of reservation prescribed in Rule 14 to 17 of Part II of Kerala State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1958 is not applicable to this selection |
Age Limit | Must have completed 21 (Twenty One years as on 01.01.2022. The upper age limit is not applicable to this selection. |
Qualifications | 1 (a) B Sc / B Tech Degree in Engineering (Civil) of the Kerala University or B.E. Degree (Civil) of the Madras University or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto. OR (b) Associate Membership Diploma of the Institution of Engineers, India, in Civil Engineering or any other Diploma recognized as equivalent thereto. OR (c) Pass in section ‘A and ‘B’ of the Associate Membership Examination of the Institution of Engineers, India in Civil Engineering. 2. In the case of I & II Grade Draftsman / Overseer, III Grade Overseer / Tracers, they should have rendered not less than 2 years of service in one or more categories and in the case of Clerks, Typists, Typist-Clerks and Confidential Assistants, they should have rendered not less than 6 years of service in the respective categories in the Public Works Department. Note : Candidates should produce a Service Certificate (in original) obtained from the Head of Office/Department to prove the length of their service in the respective Category in the concerned Department as and when called for by the Commission.(Form of Service Certificate shall be in the form given below) |
