Candidates who are interested in working as an Sub Inspector of Police (Trainee) in the state of Kerala with a pay scale of ₹ 45,600-95,600, can now apply for the exam through the official KPSC website. The last date of application will be 01-02-2023.

Method of appointment | Direct Recruitment (i) Category No. 669/2022 : Open Market (ii) Category No. 670/2022 : From among the Graduate Ministerial staff of Police and Vigilance Department, Fingerprint Experts, Fingerprint Searchers of the Fingerprint Bureau who had completed two years of service in Police/Vigilance Department (iii) Category No.671/2022 : From among the Graduate Police Constables, Head Constables and officers of corresponding rank in Police and Vigilance Department. The Vacancies shall be apportioned among the Open market, Ministerial wing and Constabulary wing in accordance with the orders contained in G.O. (Ms) No.240/85/Home dated 30.12.1985 and G.O. (Ms) No. 196/95/Home dated 26.07.1995. The relative seniority of the candidates in the above three categories will be decided as ordered in G.O. (Ms) No.240/85/Home dated 30.12.1985. |
Age Limit | Category – i (Open Market) – 20-31 : Only candidates born between 02.01.1991 and 01.01.2002 (both dates included). Category – ii (Ministerial) – Should not have completed 36 (Thirty six) years of age as on 01.01.2022. Category – iii (Constabulary) – Should not have completed 36 (Thirty six) years of age as on 01.01.2022 [Relaxation in upper age limit as per para 2 of the Part II General conditions, is applicable for all the three categories.] Note 1. Candidates from the Ministerial staff and Constabulary will be allowed to apply either for open competition or for the reservation quota but not for both. [As per G.O. (Ms) No.207/70/Home dated 05.10.1970] 2. The principles of rules of reservation and rotation will apply only for Category(i) -Open market candidates. Candidates under Category (ii) and (iii) will be advised on the basis of merit only. [As per G.O. (Ms) No. 240/85/Home dated 30.12.1985] 3. Qualifications | (a) Educational Qualification : Graduation Only in the absence of sufficient number of qualified SC/ST candidates, applications of SC/ST candidates who have passed Intermediate/Pre University Examinations of recognised University shall be considered to fill up the quota reserved for them under Category (i) (As per G.O(Ms)No. 239/Home dated 04.05.1961). Note 1: Rule 10 (a) ii of Part II of KS & SSR is applicable. Note 2: In addition to the qualification specified in the Notification, the qualifications declared by Government through executive orders or standing orders, as equivalent to the prescribed educational qualification and the higher qualifications of the notified and prescribed basic qualifications shall be accepted. The Government Order regarding the equivalent qualification/ higher qualification shall be produced as and when called for by the Commission. Note 3:In the case of difference in original caste/community claimed in the application and that entered in SSLC book, the candidate shall produce a gazette notification in this regard along with Non creamy layer certificate/Caste certificate issued by the competent revenue authority, at the time of certificate verification. (b) Physical Qualification: Should be Physically fit. Candidates should possess minimum physical standards as prescribed below. Male Candidates Height 165.10 cm For SC/ST Candidates 160.02 cm Chest Measurement 81.28 cm Chest Expansion 5.08 cm Note: No relaxation will be allowed to SC/ST candidates in the matter of chest measurement and chest expansion. (c) Both the male and the female candidates must be certified to possess the visual standards specified below without glasses. (d) Candidates should produce a medical certificate in original at the time of Certificate Verification in the form prescribed hereunder certifying to their physical fitness and eyesight without glasses obtained from a Medical Officer not below the rank of a Civil Surgeon. |
